Sony Corporation is planning to launch its latest model of Xperia phone on April 14, this year. According to the poster, we are looking at an announcement date of April 14 at 16:30 JST. Moreover, this comes in a very subtle way from Droid-Life via the company’s YouTube channel banner. It gives out that there will be a new product announcement happening at 4:30 pm Japan Standard Time. However, that is 3:30 am EST, or 12:30 am PT (or 1 pm IST).

We have not many genuine clues as to what this announcement can entail. However, we have been hearing about another model, the Xperia 1 III, and one about the arrival of the XperiaCompact. According to Verge, there are different rumors that notice new forms of the Xperia 5 and 10 which leave out the Compact completely. It could wind up being an Android answer to the iPhone Mini.
Moreover, other rumors indicate that Xperia 1 III will have a periscope zoom lens. It can have specs like Snapdragon 888, 12GB of memory, 5G, and a 4K 120Hz screen, and much more. The rumors also indicate that the new model will have a 5.5-inch display, which is only a tiny bit bigger than the screen on an iPhone Mini.

Furthermore, we also see Xperia 1 III price and specifications leaks surfacing online ahead of its anticipated launch. The phone is said to be priced at CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs. 1,00,500) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. Moreover, it could be officially listed sometime in June.
However, in terms of specs, Xperia 1 III can include a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED 10bit display with 1,300 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone can also power on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There are also rumors of a 16GB RAM + 512GB storage model.

Coming to the optics, the tipster says that the Sony Xperia 1 III will have a triple rear camera setup with a 63-megapixel wide-angle main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle secondary sensor, and a third 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with “Cyber-shot“ lossless zoom capabilities.
