OnePlus’s loyal base might not have to wait long for the news of the OnePlus 9 RT. Last month, Android Central revealed that the OnePlus is working on a new smartphone under the OnePlus 9 series. The company will come out with the ‘T’ version of the OnePlus 9R. Now, the launch date of the OnePlus 9 RT has leaked online. However, there is no confirmation from the company about the phone or its launch date as of yet.
According to leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer @OnLeaks, the OnePlus 9 RT may arrive on October 15, 2021. This leak also reiterates the report claiming that the phone will launch in October. Now, if you are wondering why the company has not launched any T variants of the OnePlus 9 series – here’s why.

The reason why OnePlus might be avoiding a OnePlus 9T is to keep the sales of the OnePlus 9 devices smooth. If the OnePlus 9T launches, people would prefer the OnePlus 9T instead of the OnePlus 9. OnePlus 9 RT Expected Specifications
According to leaks, there might not be a lot of differences in the display and other specifications between the OnePlus 9R and the OnePlus 9 RT. It is likely to continue with the 6.55 inch 120Hz Samsung E3 S-AMOLED display. On the other hand, the device will also get a boosted version of the Snapdragon 870 from Qualcomm. Whereas, optics-wise, it can sport a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera sensor. It is also likely to get OIS.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 9 RT is expected to offer up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It may feature a selfie camera of 16-megapixel. For security, it will be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
At present, there is no information available on the pricing of the device. However, we can assume that it might not be as expensive as other devices in its series.
