In June 2020, EA unveiled the upcoming Need for Speed game, which they described as a “Next-Gen” Need for Speed experience. We don’t know whether this implies the game will only be on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X instead of PS4 and Xbox One.

According to a tweet from Henderson, Codemasters Cheshire has been added as a support studio for the game. What exactly does this mean? It’s difficult to tell for sure, although it might indicate various things. For starters, the project’s progress was falling short of expectations, necessitating the addition of more personnel to ensure completion. However, for various reasons support studios are sometimes in towards the last production phases. Thus, this might hint that the game has reached this phase.

You can do only speculation since Henderson has not provided any further information. Meanwhile, neither EA nor Criterion nor anybody else involved in the game’s development or release has commented on the storey.
