Xiaomi is always bringing new innovations to its concept smartphones. It is making some of the most head-turning smartphones. However, not all of them are as practical, the company tries to do it. The latest innovation from Xiaomi comes in the form of a concept smartphone with a new quad-curved waterfall display. Interesting idea, is it not? Moreover, Xiaomi had been teasing earlier today that it will be unveiling something innovative.

Xiaomi’s on its Twitter handle unveils a new concept smartphone with a quad-curved waterfall display. The smartphone is devoid of edges and the curved display extends to all four sides of the screen. Additionally, it also has a port-free design and the display is curved around the device at an angle of 88°.

Mi Mix Alpha had a display that extended on either side of the screen. However, in this device, the charging port was still present in the device. On the other hand, with this quad-curved waterfall display, Xiaomi is dropping the ports altogether. This concept is a breakthrough for the smartphone industry itself.
There are many devices out there featuring curved displays. However, we haven’t seen a quad-curved waterfall display before. Moreover, it also claims to have a total of 46 groundbreaking patents. Xiaomi also mentions that achieving the 88° curved display took “countless breakthroughs in glass bending and laminating technology”.

The smartphone does look like the next big piece of innovation in the industry.
