WhatsApp is introducing emoji reactions to messages. As well as the ability to share files up to 2GB in size, up from the previous limit of 100MB. Company is also increasing the maximum size of group chats. For those who are unaware, the company announced these features last month. They stated that they would be available soon. Slack and Telegram, in addition to WhatsApp, have had reactions for some time.

At first, only a few emojis will be available. It will support for “all emojis and skin tones” will be in the future. Reactions enable users to respond to messages without clogging up group chats.

WhatsApp is now rolling out emoji reactions such as love, laugh, surprise, sadness, and thanks to chats after a As previously stated, the list will eventually be expanding to include more emojis and colour tones. Users must long-press a message and then tap on the displayed emoji to respond to it.
When someone responds to a message sent by WhatsApp, the message sender will receive a notification. Users can respond to messages with a single emoji, but they can change their reaction after reacting or remove it entirely.

In addition to reactions, The company is increasing the default size of group chats from 256 to 512 members. According to Meta spokesperson Vispi Bhopti, the emoji reactions feature will be rolling out to everyone in “about a week,” but some users may already have it.
App is also increasing the file size limit for sharing files to 2-gigabytes, but only for documents, not photos and videos, which remain limited to 16-megabytes. As previously stated, while reactions and increased file size limits will be available in the current version, the larger groups feature will be gradually implemented. The timeline for it hasn’t been revealed.
