WhatsApp rolled out its cashback offer for its UPI-based payments service just last month. Now, it has started rolling out this WhatsApp Pay feature to Android beta users on WhatsApp. This move seems like a new way for WhatsApp to push its payments service in India. Moreover, the beta app on Android has started displaying a banner on top of the chat list with the message. “Give cash, get Rs. 51 back.”
However, this WhatsApp cashback offer is only available for beta users on Android. But we can expect it to be available to users all over in India soon. Interestingly, the highlight of this whole offer is that there is no minimum amount limit under this offer. Meaning, even if you are sending just Rs. 1 to someone – you will get a cashback of Rs. 51.

Meanwhile, one can get maximum of Rs. 255 cashback if you make payment to five different WhatsApp contacts. Although the cashback is guaranteed, it looks like you can avail it only five times. This feature is also available only to beta users and on Android. But considering it’s already available for beta users WhatsApp is expected to make it widely available for all users in India.

Recently, WhatsApp also added a dedicated payments button in the chat bar. This button enables users to quickly send money right from the chat bar. Previously, users had to open the chat action sheet in order to send payments. The platform also added a feature that allows users to add payment background when sending money. Users can choose from a range of artful expressions by WhatsApp to complement payments on occasions like birthdays, holidays or for gifts and travel.
