Samsung is reportedly working on introducing 65W fast charging support on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 flagship smartphone. Moreover, this is not the first time that Samsung’s plans on developing a 65W fast charging tech has surfaced online. The South Korean giant’s 65W fast charging adapter had appeared on the Indian BIS certification website back in April of this year.
From the looks of it, Samsung is already miles behind in the fast charging tech. With smartphones launching with a staggering 120W fast charging tech and Xiaomi working on their 200W HyperCharge tech, the company is lagging behind big time. Moreover, Samsung’s recent flagships offer only up to 44W fast charging support. This should definitely change with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series of smartphones.

Taking things back a bit, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series launched with a 25W fast charging support. Now, that is very low in terms of the trends in 2021. People look forward to staggeringly fast charging tech on smartphones now because of fast lives. Now, the company will finally be able to offer that as a new report suggests that the company is working to bring out 65W fast charging tech for their Galaxy S22 lineup.
Samsung Galaxy S22 65W Fast Charging Tech: What Else?
Noted tipster FrontTron took to Twitter to reveal that the company is working on a 65W fast charging technology. Additionally, the leaker stated the new fast charging tech is being tested on the Rainbow RGB. Now, Rainbow is the codename set for the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones. In this, the R denotes the Samsung Galaxy S22, G for the Samsung Galaxy S22+ and B for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Samsung genuinely does need to step up in the realm of fast charging technology. Also, Samsung will most likely not ship the 65W fast charging charger in the box itself. So, buyers of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series smartphones will have to additionally buy the adapter. Moreover, the charger will reportedly feature a USB Type-C connector in place of a USB Type-A connector.
