Apple has unveiled the date for its highly anticipated September 9 hardware event, dubbed ‘Awe-Dropping.’ It is set to take place at its Cupertino headquarters. For Indian buyers, this could translate to a similar price hike, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max—already one of the most expensive models—likely to reach even higher price points. Apple is reportedly justifying the increase with upgrades in design, performance, and camera features, all aimed at attracting its premium user base.
What To Expect From Key Design Changes And Upgrades
Industry sources reveal that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will undergo a major design change. It will come with the iconic square-shaped camera bar being replaced by a sleek horizontal stripe running across the back. Another key change is the shift to a half-glass, half-aluminium construction. The colour options will expand, introducing a new Orange shade alongside black, white, grey, and dark blue.
On the front, Dynamic Island will have a smaller, resized appearance. The camera setup of iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max is also getting a significant upgrade.
The front camera will see a boost from 12 megapixels to 24 megapixels, enabling sharper selfies and a lossless 2x zoom crop. The rear telephoto sensor will jump to 48 megapixels, joining the wide and ultra-wide cameras.
