It seems like Apple is now facing the effects of global pandemic and supply constraints. Some of the iPad and MacBook models by Apple are facing production delays due to shortages of chips and display components.
Although Apple has been very careful about the supply chains, still, the pandemic has hit hard on the supply chains of the biggest smartphone manufacturing company in the industry.

Production delay of Apple products
Apple is facing shortage of chips for MacBook and shortage of display components for iPads recently. However every smartphone company in in the industry is facing the same shorted since quite some time. Apple is the last company to face the shortage and that has impacted the supply chain of the company.
Apple aims to sell 240 million iPhones in the year 2021 for a better recovery of the company. Not only this, but the demand for PC and tablets are increasing day by day due to the pandemic and lockdown. Many people are now working for study from home because of which the demand is increasing day by day.

That is the main reason why every tech giant is now facing supply issues and chip shortages. Also, this has been a disaster for smaller tech companies to keep up their production lines with the shortage of components. The pandemic has the worst effect on small businesses and tech companies.
Right now the company is only facing the production delay in iPads and MacBook. However, there is no confirmation if the production delay will spread to other Apple products on new products that are in line this year.
