The month of August was full of excitement in the mobile market with more than a dozen new smartphone launches happening. We witnessed new smartphones from Redmi, Nokia, Realme, and some new surprise elements too from Honor, Lava, and itel. With festival season around the corner, we shall witness a lot more smartphone launches in the coming weeks.

1. Honor 9S | Honor 9A
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor made a comeback to the Indian smartphone market with the launch of Honor 9S and Honor 9A. The Honor 9S features a 5.45 inch HD display while Honor 9A features a bigger screen of a 6.3-inch display with HD resolution.
In terms of processor, both the devices feature an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P22 12nm processor with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The Honor 9S has a 2GB RAM and 32GB storage while the 9A offers a 3GB RAM and 64GB storage; both the devices have expandable storage up to 512GB with microSD.

The Honor 9S features a single rear camera setup and is backed by a 3020 mAh battery. While the 9A features a bigger 5000 mAh battery, a tripper rear camera (13MP+5MP+2MP) setup, an 8MPfront camera, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. At the same time, the 9S features an 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera.

2. Oppo Reno 4 pro
Oppo introduced a new smartphone to the Reno line of smartphones last month. The Oppo Reno 4 pro features 6.5 inches Full HD E3 Super AMOLED 3D Borderless Sense Screen which is curved at 55.9°. It has an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that can be expanded with microSD.
The Oppo Reno 4 Pro features a 48 MP rear camera + 8MP ultra-wide camera + 2MP macro camera, and 2MP mono camera. The front camera is 32MP that is great for capturing selfies.

In terms of battery, we have a 4000mAh battery, and the device also features a dual sim system (nano+nano). However, there are no stereo speakers, and the device is powered by an old Snapdragon 720G with Adreno 618 GPU.

3. Lava Z66
The Z-series line up of Lava made a new addition to it with the Z66. The device features a notched 6.08 inches display having HD resolution and 2.5D curved glass. Moreover, it comes in three color options of Marine Blue, Berry Red, and Midnight Blue.
The Lava Z66 is powered by a 1.6GHz Spreadtrum octa-core processor that is accompanied by 3GB RAM and 32GB storage that is expandable up to 128 GB with a microSD. The device is running on Android 10 out of the box and features a dual nano-SIM card system (4G+4G).
In terms of battery, we have a 3950mAh of battery that charges via a micro-USB port. In terms of camera, the z66 features a dual rear camera setup 13MP + 5 MP and a 13MP front camera.

4. Redmi 9 Prime
The Redmi 9 Prime is another smartphone launched by Xiaomi in August 2020. The Redmi 9 Prime features a 6.53 full HD LCD display with 400 nits of peak brightness. The device is powered by Octa-Core MediaTek Helio G80 12nm processor with up to 950MHz ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. In terms of optics, we have a quad rear camera setup with a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor to capture those portrait shots. Along with this, there’s an 8MP front-facing selfie camera.

5. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Series
The Galaxy Note series added a new lineup in the Note series line of smartphones and the most prominent one among ones is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. While the Galaxy Note 20 is the cheapest one with a few compromises and a slightly inferior set of cameras.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra features a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with support of HDR 10+. In terms of processor, the Ultra features an Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 990 7nm EUV processor with ARM Mali-G77MP11 GPU. We have 12GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, a 4500mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
In terms of camera, we have a 108MP primary camera, a 12MP Periscope lens with Super Resolution Zoom up to 50X and a 12MP 120° Ultra Wide sensor.
Talking about the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, we have almost similar specifications to the Note 20 ultra, with differences being in the display and camera technology. The Note 20 features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ (2400×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O Display and features 8GB RAM instead of 12GB RAM on the ultra.

6. Itel Vision 1
Itel launched Vision 1, a new range of smartphones to its vision series. The itel Vision 1 features a 6.088-inch display with resolutions of 1560 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by the 1.6GHz Octa-Core Unisoc SC9863A processor with IMG8322 GPU.
Vision 1 comes with Android 9.0 (pie) out of the box and features 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage with an expandable memory of 128GB with microSD card. The device is backed by a 4000 mAh removable battery and in terms of optics we have an 8MP rear camera with 5MP front camera. It supports 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.

7. Realme C12
Realme too announced a new addition to its budget C-series line of smartphones in the form of Realme C12. The device features a 6.5-inch HD+ 20:9 mini-drop display with 88.7% screen-to-body ratio and features a Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. The Realme C12 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 processor with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU and is backed by a 6000mAh battery with 10W charging.

The device features 3 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB storage that can be expanded up to 256 GB with a microSD card. This device comes with Android 10 out of the box and runs on Realme UI. In terms of optics, the C12 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP mono camera, and a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

8. Realme C15
Realme along with the C12 also announced the Realme C15, another budget device in the category. The Realme C15 offers a 6.52 inch HD display with 1600 x 720 pixels HD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection on top of it.
The C15 is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 processor coupled with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. We have two storage/RAM variants for this device, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.
In terms of optics we have a quad rear camera setup with a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP 119° ultra-wide camer, 2MP retro sensor and 2MP mono camera with f/2.4 aperture. It has a front camera of 8MP. 9. Moto G9
Motorola is another brand that made a launch with Moto G9, a lineup to its G series. The new G9 features a 6.5 inch Max Vision HD+ display and is powered by Snapdragon 662 processor. The device features a 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 512 GB with a MicroSD card.

10. Gionee Max
Gionee also stepped up and made the launch of the Gionee Max. This device features a 6.1 inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by an Octa-Core Unisoc processor and features a 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB with microSD card slot. .
The device runs on Android 10 out of the box and has a dual sim card slot (nano+nano). The front camera on the Gionee Max is 5MP, while at the rear we have a dual-camera setup with a primary 13MP camera and a dedicated depth sensor.

11. Oppo A53
Along with the Reno 4 pro, Oppo also launched the A53, a lineup in the A-series. It features a 6.5 inch HD display with Gorilla glass protection. It is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 460 and comes in two RAM/storage variants: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage or 6GB RAM with 128 GB storage. Both storage options are expandable up to 256GB with microSD.

It runs on Android 10 out of the box with ColorOS 7.2 running on top of it. As for the camera, Oppo is known for providing high-quality cameras, and the A53 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor, and a 16MP front camera. The device is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It is available in 3 different colors variants: Electric Black, Fairy White, and Fancy Blue.

12. Nokia C3
HMD Global launched the Nokia C3 a new addition to its budget line of smartphones. This C3 features a 5.99 inch HD display and is powered by 1.6GHz Octa-Core Unisoc SC9863A processor with IMG8322 GPU. The device comes in two variants: 2GB RAM with 16GB storage or 3GB RAM with 32GB, both storages expandable up to 400GB with a microSD card.

13. Nokia 5.3
HMD global made another launch in August with Nokia 5.3 a mid-range device that aims to deliver great camera experience. The Nokia 5.3 features a 6.55-inch HD+ display and is powered by Snapdragon 665 with Adreno 610 GPU. It offers 4GB/6GB RAM with 64 GB storage that is expandable with MicroSD up to 512 GB.

14. Vivo Y20i | Vivo Y20
Vivo has announced two new smartphones to the Y-series of smartphones in the form of Vivo Y20 and Vivo Y20i. The specifications of both the devices is same, with the only difference being in the RAM.
The Vivo Y20 features a 6.51 inch HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 460 processor with Adreno 610 GPU. The RAM is 3GB for the Y20i and 4GB for the Vivo Y20, and a 64GB internal storage is the same for both the variants which is expandable up to 256 GB with a MicroSD card.

It is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 processor and runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12. It has 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage, expandable up to 512 GB with MicroSD.

The battery is of 5000mAh with 10w charging. In terms of optics, it has a 13 MP rear camera +2MP secondary camera, and 5 MP depth camera. There’s no 4k recording available in this model. It is splash-proof with its P2i coating and supports dual SIM (nano+nano).
