In a series of leaks happening just as the iPhone 12 series is nearing its launch, a new leak is now in. Apple may just have suggested the existence of a 120Hz display on the flagship series. Moreover, it is coming through as an iOS 14 developer beta 5 update.
This new beta update for the upcoming iOS version – iOS 14 beta 5. This update is offering a feature called “Limit Frame Rate.” It will be found in the ‘Motion’ section found under the ‘Accessibility’ header in the Settings app.

Using this switch, iPhone 12 users will be able to set the maximum frame rate of the display to 60 frames per second. This update was visible on Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, running iOS 14 developer beta 5.
However, the new option is of no use to the existing iPhone models. Because they don’t support a higher display refresh rate. Moreover, it is restricting itself to the 60Hz refresh rate. Though, this could be an addition to the new iPhone 12 series launching this year.

Let’s not forget, later this year in May, XDA Developers Max Weinbach said that the iPhone 12 Pro Max will come with a 120Hz refresh rate. Subsequently, a tweet made by Ross Young, a display market analyst was explosive. It included the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max in the list of 120Hz phones for 2020.
Apple has provided its ProMotion display technology on the latest iPad Pro models. It enables a fluid experience of up to 120Hz. This technology is likely to be embraced for the iPhone 12 series.
