Journal

Journal is the brand new app that you will be getting with iOS 17. The app introduces a fresh method of remembering and documenting experiences, combining text, location, photos, and much more. With this app, you have complete control over what you include in your memories.

Contact Posters

With Contact Posters, you choose how you appear in calls on your Contact card. This feature lets you customize the posters with various images, fonts, and colors. Additionally, the app works with CallKit software, so it is compatible with third-party VOIP apps as well.

StandBy

StandBy is another great feature you get with iOS 17. The concept, however, is borrowed from Apple Watch. With this feature, you can put the phone on a Stand at night, allowing you to see live activities, game scores, and a range of clock styles.

Live Voicemail

The Live Voicemail feature transcripts the voice messages as they are left on your phone when someone calls you. So, now you don’t have to go back to listening to all those voicemails. Instead, you can simply read these transcripts and choose to answer the call you want to.

Messages

Messages are now faster and more convenient. You get search filters to narrow down your search within a chat. Furthermore, you can simply swipe to reply to any message. Also, the audio messages are transcribed in the new Messages app.

The new iOS 17 features also include a “Check In” option. This feature appears in the chat. So now, you can update your friends and family when you get home. This new feature will also let them know in case you did not reach home. Furthermore, they will also have an idea of your battery level and call status so they know if you are able to take calls.

FaceTime

The FaceTime feature will now let you leave a video voicemail. So, if someone does not pick up your call, you can leave a video message for them immediately.

Stickers

Stickers are getting a major update with iOS 17. You can now select any sticker and drag them to a particular message in the chat to react. You can also resize the stickers as per your choice. Additionally, all the emojis can be converted into stickers. Also, your images and live photos can be made stickers in the new iOS 17 features.

AirDrop

Apple is upgrading AirDrop, which allows users to share photos, files, and any information by simply holding their iPhones close to each other. The update is called NameDrop, which is a faster way to share contact profiles while adding or omitting any information as you want to.

Improved Dictation

Autocorrect is also getting major improvements, making it more accurate than ever. So, now Autocorrect won’t just predict the right word but can even offer predictions in line as you type. All you need is to hit the Space button to add them.

Siri Update

Instead of saying “Hey Siri”, you can now give commands to Siri by simply saying ” Siri”.

Improved Photos

Photos are improved with the new iOS 17. Photos can now identify the images of pets that are part of your family.
