Apple is working on its next-gen iPhone 12 series that will be launching later this year. The Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to unleash four models that are probably 5G-powered but that also means the price tag on even the most affordable Apple 5G Mobile Phone model will be extrinsic. Turns out Apple is already working on reducing the price tag and the most obvious choice is to cut back on accessories. Remember 3.5mm headphone jack that was cut back a few years ago as it reserved some space and not to mention, raise the overall price of iPhones as Apple would eventually relay the price of having a 3.5mm headphone jack to the customers.

To reduce the cost of an Apple 5G Mobile Phone aka iPhone 12 5G which is expected to rise by $30 to $100 over the last year’s iPhones, Apple is reporting going to cut back on the 5W charging adapter that comes inside the retail box. Moreover, it could also get rid of the EarPods that are inside the box as well which will eventually help the company indirectly reduce the cost of the upcoming iPhone 5G enabled 2020 models. Moreover, lighter retail boxes will also incur lower freight charges that would further extend the possibility of how much Apple could reduce the price tag and bank on the profitability.

According to a news outlet, not including a 5W charging adapter with iPhone 5G enabled 2020 wouldn’t be a big deal as charging an iPhone’s battery with a 5W charger takes hours. Moreover, EarPods are chunky and there are other attractive options than picking up EarPods for that matter.

Apple was earlier speculated to include a 20W charging adapter with the upcoming iPhone 12 series, however, a report suggests that it could be included with new iPads.
According to another source, Apple is working on reducing the supply chain expenses that would eventually result is cheaper iPhones. It is also working on reducing the battery protection module by 50% to further lower the price tags for its upcoming iPhone 12 series.
