Apple hosted a launch event just a few hours ago unveiling some of the new additions in its family. The company launched two new Watch models and an iPad Air that features a new design.
This Time Flies event did not bring any of its new awaited iPhone models in this launch. However, the event brings in important announcements about new iPads that it is introducing this year.
Here are some of the major announcements and launches made in this event by the Cupertino based tech giant.
Apple Watch Series 6
It announces the Apple Watch Series 6, strengthening it as a health-focused device. It is also powered by a new S6 chip, which is a dual-core processor based on the A13 Bionic in the iPhone 11.

However, the biggest point is that you can measure your blood oxygen saturation with the new Watch. In addition, it’s screen can get 2.5 times brighter outdoors and also has an always-on altimeter.
The Series 6 comes in a number of new colors, including a blue aluminum case, gold stainless steel, gray stainless steel called graphite, and for the first time, there’s an Apple Watch Product Red model. There is a number of new watch faces, including a watch face that shows a Memoji.
Watch Series 6 starts selling at $399 for the GPS version in the US. It will go on sale on September 18th. It starts at Rs 40,900 for the GPS model, while the GPS + Cellular model starts at Rs 49,900.
Apple Watch SE
This comes as a more affordable version of its popular fitness wearable. It has many same features including heart rate and fitness tracking and fall detection. It is an upgraded version of Watch Series 3.
However, it will feature last year’s S5 chip. It will come with a display that is the same size as the Series 6’s screen. This appears to be targeted at children with new features such as automatic location notifications and a school time mode.
Apple Watch SE has been launched at $279 in the US. Apple brings a cost-friendly smartwatch which costs Rs 29,900 for the entry-level GPS model and Rs 33,900 for the GPS + Cellular model.

The company announced that the Apple Watch will not ship with USB power adapters. It is in compliance with its eco-friendly venture.
Apple Fitness+
Apple is launching a new premium subscription service called Fitness Plus. It is specifically targeted for Watch users. It will allow you to choose workouts from the catalog of videos that can be played on iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. Fitness data on the screen, everyday new trainers’ videos, and activity rings are a part of this.
Their workouts will be refreshed weekly and you can also pick your choice of music while working out. Fitness+ integrates with Apple Music to let you carry over your music. This is an example of tight integration between the Watch and the screen.

It costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year in the US. This will be available by the end of the year. It is free for three months if you buy an Apple Watch in regions that support the service. However, Fitness+ is not coming to India at launch.
Apple One
The company announced new “Apple One” subscription bundles that bring together many of the company’s services at different price tiers.
This has been priced at $15 per month for Apple’s Music, TV+, Arcade, and 50GB iCloud. There is a family plan at $20 per month with 200GB iCloud. There is also a Premier plan for Apple One with News+ and Fitness+ at $30 per month and 2TB iCloud storage.
iPad Air 4 (2020)
This iPad Air looks like an iPad Pro with its new design. It has a redesigned body with flat borders. It allows it to support the second-generation Apple Pencil. The new iPad also includes a new 10.9-inch Liquid Retina IPS display with 2,360 by 1,640 resolution that includes Apple’s True Tone technology.
Moreover, the device features a new A14 Bionic chipset.

Apple says the A14 is based on the 5nm process technology, which is an industry-first according to the company. Apple says the iPad Air 4 (2020) offers 40% better CPU performance and 30% better graphics performance than the iPad Air (2019). This supports features such as Magic Keyboard, USB-C, better camera performance, and faster LTE performance too.
Apple plans to release the iPad Air 4 sometime in October. iPad Air 4 (2020) price starts at $599.
The W-Fi 64GB model is priced at Rs. 54,900 while 256GB will cost Rs. 68,900. The cellular 64GB model will cost Rs. 66,900, going up to Rs. 80,900 for 256GB.
iPad 8th Gen
Apple updated its entry-level iPad with a new processor. It has the A12 Bionic chip, a Touch ID and a similar form factor as compared to its predecessor.
However, the processor is a big upgrade over the A10 that was powering the older iPad. In addition, it also supports Apple’s Smart Keyboard cover and Apple Pencil.

The iPad 8th Gen price is $329 in the US. This new model is starting at Rs. 29,900 and Rs. 37,900 for the 32GB and 128GB Wi-Fi versions respectively, and Rs. 41,900 and 49,900 for the cellular versions in the same capacities.
iOS 14
Apple announced it will release iOS 14 to the public tomorrow, September 16th. It will also be including iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, and tvOS 14. The company also said that all of the hardware products announced today will have the new software on board.
It will be available for download on all iPhone models that are in the compatibility list of iOS 13. Here is a list of these compatible phones:
iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and the iPhone SE (2020).
Generally, the company releases new software updates on the same day as the new iPhone launches.
