Google has officially unveiled its first smartwatch, the Pixel Watch. The most recent Pixel Watch smartwatch, which was first showcased at the Google I/O event this year, is Google’s response to Apple’s well-known Apple Watch series. Similar to the Pixel Buds earphones, the Google Pixel Watch can also be used with other Android devices, but it is claimed to perform better with its Pixel smartphones.
According to Google, the new Pixel Watch dial is crafted of stainless steel that is 80% made from recycled material. Users can also customise the watch further with different coloured bands. We now take a look at all the details of the newly launched smartwatch, with its availability, price, specifications, features, and comparison with other smartwatches in its price category. So, let’s begin.

3. Google Pixel Watch: Specifications
The circular display of the Google Pixel Watch has scratch-resistant 3D cover glass and a distinctive, curved design. The dial is 41 mm broad and 12.3 mm thick. It is available with countless combinations of fashionable bands and watch faces. The device also has Wear OS preinstalled inside the watch. The wristwatch supports a variety of third-party apps, including Spotify, Calm, and other popular music and streaming apps. The watch is powered by Exynos 9110 chipset, which was previously found in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3.
A wide range of capabilities is also included in Google’s Wear OS 3.5. These include smart home management, wrist-based access to the Google Play Store, optional LTE (4G) services, emergency SOS access, international emergency dialling, and Google Wallet mobile payments through NFC. Google has also promised that via future updates, it will be able to detect falls, take an ECG from the wrist, and test blood oxygen saturation as well.
4. Google Pixel Watch: Features
Google claims that the Google Pixel Watch offers the “best of Google and Fitbit”. Whether you’re exercising or at rest, the Pixel Watch with Fitbit support continuously measures your heart rate once per second. As mentioned earlier, it comes with Google Pay support and can display notifications from popular Google apps such as Calendar and Gmail.
Users can also view their personalised Wellness Report and Health Metrics Dashboard on the Google Pixel Watch. With this function, the watch will display your essential health readings, pulse readings, breathing rates, and 24×7 stress monitoring. The circular-shaped Pixel Watch, which comes in various bracelet styles, is composed of glass and stainless steel. It supports contactless payments, music control, and turn-by-turn navigation while driving.

5. Google Pixel Watch: Comparison With Other Smartwatches
The design of the Pixel Watch and the newly launched Apple Watch Series 8 may be one of their most significant distinctions. The Google Pixel Watch sports a more conventional circular watch face with rounded sides. On the other hand, the Apple Watch Series 8 comes with its old squarish design. The Google Pixel Watch is the better of the two for people who want to access more information in a smartwatch without departing from the classic style.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 has an entirely flat display, and two buttons are on the right side of the case. There is no sign of a revolving crown, like the Google smartwatch. But that screen is protected by sapphire crystal, which makes it extremely strong and scratch-resistant. The Pixel Watch, on the other hand, has a Gorilla Glass 5 surface that has been specially manufactured by Corning and has highly sharp curves all the way around to produce a smooth rounded edge around the case. It also has two buttons: one in the centre, which also functions as a spinning crown, and one above it that may be pressed.
Conclusion
With Google finally launching its first smartwatch, it would be interesting to see how it competes against the hugely popular Apple Watch series and the Samsung Galaxy smartwatches. The company has relied on the fitness aspect the most, and the watch is claimed to offer the most accurate heart rate tracker. Users can also download Google system apps and popular third-party apps inside the device. We don’t have any information about its potential launch or availability in India, but we hope the watch is also launched here for Google enthusiasts.
