Vivo T3 Ultra Design and Build

Vivo T3 Ultra has a curved AMOLED display, which gives it a premium feel. The phone is a bit bulky, enhancing the viewing experience, but adjusting it might take some time. The bezels and chin have been minimized, and the punch-hole camera does not seem to dominate the front panel. But, it does not come with protective glass.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Design

The phone itself is also solid and has a good weight distribution that does not hurt while using. Recently, I reviewed the Vivo V40. This phone’s back is almost similar with minimal changes.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Design

At the top of the phone is a dual microphone. On the right side of the phone, there is a power and volume button. The bottom of the phone has a microphone, SIM tray, a Type-C slot and a volume strip.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Design

I like its back, which makes it glass, but it does not take fingerprints during use. Vivo gives a protective cover you can use to protect from accidental drops. Its front glass also has Schott Xensation Alpha technology, which makes it quite resistant to damage. To protect it from dust and water, it has an IP68 rating.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Camera

The Vivo T3 Ultra has a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Upon evaluating the daylight photos it shoots, I liked what I saw; it offers colourful and rich detail, and it has a decent dynamic range.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Camera

The ultra-wide sensor also manages at least acceptable colour reproduction and resolution without noticeable edge distortion.

Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Camera sample

I clicked a lot of images in different environments; it captured stunning images. You will see it manages perfect edges and natural colours. You can see the sky and green leaves in their colours. Sometimes, you may saturate your images but make them more vibrant.

One feature I found interesting while using this Vivo T3 Ultra was its night mode with ‘Aura Light’ functions. This helps make the photos taken in low lighting more natural by decreasing warm tones, which is another good point of the camera.

Selfie lovers will appreciate the sharp images produced by the 50MP front camera with reliable edge detection as it offers zoom capability, too.

Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Front camera

I captured several images with the front, and I liked the most. The front camera also performs very well in low light and night.

Finally, the Vivo T3 Ultra can record video at 4K with 60 frames per second, a resolution that enhances video quality and makes it smooth. Though it doesn’t have a dedicated telephoto or depth sensor lens, 20x digital zoom can be easily utilised, but quality suffers at high levels, as one would naturally expect.

But of major drop, I got a Vivo T3 Ultra camera, which is bullring everything in low light videography at 0.6x zoom. You can see in my screenshots that when I was making videos at 2x zoom, it performed well; when I moved to 1x zoom, it was also good.

But, I shifted to 0.6x zoom, which also blurred everything and decreased the quality of the video. I think this is a camera bug, which Vivo shorts out immediately.

Vivo T3 Ultra Battery and Charging

The battery of the Vivo T3 Ultra is a strong point. The phone is equipped with a 5500mAh battery, which I found to be more than sufficient for a full day’s use with mixed activities. I played a lot of gaming like BGMI, so it can easily last almost 9 to 10 hours continuously.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Battery

The 80W fast charging capability is a welcome feature, allowing the battery to go from 0 to 100% in about 56 minutes.

Vivo T3 Ultra Review: 80W fast charger

During my testing, I watched multiple movies on just 75 per cent of its battery. This indicates that it should easily handle moderate to heavy daily use. For light users like my dad, it may last up to two days, which is an excellent advantage for frequent travellers. In this Vivo T3 Ultra review, battery performance is one area that stands out and adds great value to the overall user experience.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Display

Vivo T3 Ultra features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and transitions smoother. There’s also HDR10+ support, allowing you to consume HDR content from YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Display

The AMOLED panel provides good colour accuracy and sharpness, delivering an enjoyable experience for casual browsing and content streaming.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Display

When I watched the content, the colours felt vibrant, and the brightness levels were sufficient even outdoors. The display achieves about 4500 nits of brightness, which is enough for most lighting conditions.

This phone has a stereo speaker, so when you watch the content, its bottom speaker is primary, and the calling speaker is secondary.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Display

It has a 1260 x 2800 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 20:9. This Vivo T3 Ultra review highlights the display’s excellent performance for most viewing angles, making it ideal for users who enjoy watching videos and streaming content.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Performance

The Vivo T3 Ultra is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, which is built on a 4nm process. In my usage, the chipset delivers efficient performance for multitasking and gaming.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: RAM

The phone includes LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.0 storage, enhancing read and write speeds, which is essential for smooth app performance. I conducted a series of tests to see how the phone handles multiple apps open at once, and it performed smoothly and smoothly. I was able to switch between apps smoothly, and the phone’s RAM management kept most apps running in the background for quick access.

It comes with three storage variants: 128GB storage, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, 8GB RAM and 256GB 12GB RAM, which I was using.

Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Performance test

I ran several performance tests on the Vivo T3 Ultra to review it. Its Geekbench scores are 1792 in single-core and 4958 in multi-core. The maximum in the CPU throttling test is 76 per cent. Moreover, its Antutu score is 1470999. The 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme Stress Test has an overall score of 54.1 per cent.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Gaming

During the Antutu benchmark and CPU throttling test, it warmed, but not like the Vivo V40. Recently, I reviewed the Vivo V40; it became an oven during these tests.

Vivo T3 Ultra Review: Ultra Gaming mode

I also played several games like BGMI, COC, and Asphalt. Phones give overall excellent performance.

Vivo T3 Ultra Software and UI

The Vivo T3 Ultra runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. While Funtouch OS has improved over the years, there are still areas where it could be refined.

Vivo T3 Ultra Review: SoftwareVivo T3 Ultra Review: Software

The OS includes several pre-installed apps like Hot Apps, Hot Games, Snapchat, Truecaller, Linkedin, etc, which I find unnecessary.

Vivo T3 Ultra Review: UI Vivo T3 Ultra Review: UI

Vivo has also limited the device to two years of OS updates and three years of security patches, which might be less appealing for users seeking longer-term software support.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: UI

One feature that might be useful for some users is the Visual Enhancement option, which enhances content clarity on certain platforms.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: UI

Funtouch OS also offers customization options, though it can feel chaotic with the presence of Vivo’s own themes and app suggestions. I would have preferred a cleaner interface for a smoother experience.

    Vivo T3 Ultra Review: UI

In this Vivo T3 Ultra review, I’d say that while the software is functional, it could benefit from fewer pre-installed apps and longer software support to stay competitive with other brands.

    Verdict

In a detailed Vivo T3 Ultra review, it delivers a praiseworthy blend of design, display, battery life, and camera performance that is ideal for the normal user. Due to its highly capable Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ chip, the device performs admirably for multitasking and light gaming. However, the software needs enhancements concerning bloatware and the update policy. One of the main concerns is during videography at 0.6x zooming. The phone’s features and performance provide adequate value for its price.

As evidenced by this Vivo T3 Ultra review, the device is a perfect option for individuals who require a lot of battery and a good display and camera without worrying much about the other features. The device is also quite stylish, and its robust build quality offers great value.

The Vivo T3 Ultra works as advertised for most of my requirements, helping it to stake a claim in a competitive upper mid-range space. But there are few in this price range, like Realme GT 6T, Samsung Galaxy A55 5GVivo V40, OPPO Reno12 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, etc.
