Telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently said that BSNL would bring 5G services by next year.
He also promised that 80 per cent of the country would have access to 5G services in the coming 24 to 36 months.
A report suggested that BSNL was planning to bring 4G and 5G with the support of homegrown technology.
For this, the TCS and the government’s C-Dot worked together to bring the 4G core tech to BSNL.
The company is thus planning to provide the next-gen 5G network after the successful completion of beta testing.
