Asus ROG has unveiled the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card with liquid metal cooling.

The company says that it is the world’s first graphics card to have liquid metal on the GPU

It features a custom-engineered cold plate that captures heat from the RTX 4090 GPU die as well as from the VRMs and memory chips.

Liquid metal is a good thermal interface material that facilitates much lower temperatures.

Asus said that there is one challenge: liquid metal is electrically conductive, risking a short circuit.

But they say it can safely harness the power of liquid metal while still allowing for vertical GPU mounting.

The ROG Matrix RTX 4090 is a limited-edition card and it will be available for sale in Q3 2023.
