But foldable screens? That’s something else entirely. Here’s how foldable phones have evolved over the years,
The first foldable phone released was the Royale Flexpai, which went for sale on October 31, 2018 in China l
On February 20, 2019 Samsung unpacked their Galaxy Fold. It delivered a tablet-size screen that you could fit in your pocket.
At the same time Huawei unveiled its own foldable phone, the Mate X, this had a bigger screen than the Z Fold.
On November 13, 2019, Motorola announced Moto RAZR. The idea was to give people a smartphone that can be much more portable
While its hype was quickly fading, Samsung swooped in with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip. The idea was similar but the Z Flip was executed better.
The new decade saw the launch of several foldable phones like Huawei Mate Xs, X2. Samsung went on upto 4th model with their Fold & Flip series
Till current date Xiaomi, OPPO & Vivo also tried their hands on foldable phones with Mi X Fold, OPPO Find N &
Vivo X Fold respectively.
There hasn't been a time more revolutionary for smartphones than the last decade.
It is too speculative to make any strong predictions, but it seems the conventional smartphone form factor may finally be challenged.
